Why ISCD exists
ISCD was started in response to growing needs in our communities:
- A rising number of out-of-school children
- Daunting poverty with no means of livelihood, mostly among women in developing nations
- A lack of standard development initiatives to ease people's suffering
- Families and children at risk from man-made disasters
- Economic downturns that lower living standards
- Natural catastrophes
We help lead community-driven development and enable vulnerable community groups to join integrated activities that give them a quality livelihood and make them self-sustaining.
What we offer
Today ISCD delivers its activities through the power and spirit of volunteerism, building sustainable communities, intercultural exchange and thriving villages in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
- Entrepreneurial development and empowerment
- Advocacy on global health and well-being, including HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health
- Learning tools for school children: books, pencils, rulers, drawing books, crayons, sandals and bags
- Awareness on gender and social inclusion, civic participation, and the rights of children, women and youth
